Fix download and export issues
If a download fails, won't start, or gives you a broken file, this is the checklist.
1. "Download failed" toast
Most common cause: the presigned download link that was just generated couldn't be reached. Try again:
Click the Download button a second time — each click generates a fresh link.
Check your browser isn't blocking pop-ups or downloads (look for a small icon near the address bar).
Disable aggressive extensions (ad blockers, privacy tools) that may intercept storage URLs.
Try a different browser once, to rule out extensions. If it still fails after three retries, contact support.
2. Download starts but the file is corrupted or won't play
Try a different player — QuickTime, VLC, and modern browsers all play our output correctly.
Check the file size on disk. A truncated file means the download was interrupted mid-stream — delete it, then download again.
Still broken after re-downloading? The render may have failed silently. Contact support with the dub link.
3. Download link expired
Each download URL is valid for 1 hour. If you right-clicked to copy-link and come back the next day, that copied link will fail.
Click the Download button fresh in the app — it generates a new link every time.
Your files never expire on our side; only the temporary link does.
4. SRT generation failed
On the SRT card, if generation finishes with a "Failed" state:
Check that the dub is fully completed and the audio renders are intact. If the dub had audio issues, the SRT depends on the same data and may fail.
Click Generate again to retry.
5. Wrong file content
If you expected the Lip-Synced video but got the regular one, or the download saved in the wrong language:
The Download tab has separate buttons for each variant (regular video vs. lip-synced, per target language). Double-check you clicked the right one.
If Lip-Sync was never run on this language, the Lip-Synced Video button won't appear at all — run Lip-Sync from the Lip-Sync tab first.
